Join our new PPG Group

What is a Patient Participation Group (PPG)?

The Patient Participation Group (PPG), act as a liaison between the Practice and its patients.

They are an advisory group of members, who work voluntarily with the practice,

acting as 'critical friends' to help us improve services for the patient population.

Why should I join?

If you are a registered patient of either practice in the Surgery, your experiences matter and you can bring different ideas and views to support the practices. We want the patients to work in partnership with the surgery to ensure that the patient voice is heard and their perspective is considered.

You will also have the opportunity to meet new people and learn more about health and care here at Heald Green, in the primary care network and in Stockport.

How often does the PPG meet?

The PPG meets for talks from September to May and any registered patient can attend these meetings. Details of meetings are displayed on the notice board in the surgery waiting room and on this website. if you cannot make the meetings then don't worry, you can still take part through the PPG email list. We are also hoping to set up a wider virtual group soon.

What is a Virtual Group?

A Virtual Group is a group of patients who would like to be part of the Patient Participation Group but prefer not to attend meetings. They get involved by email instead. Information such as newsletters, minutes of the Patient Participation Group meetings and surveys will be shared electronically. It means that if you can’t make face-to-face meetings, are caring for someone and unable to leave them, or are working, you can still be kept informed, give your views and participate.

Will my views be heard?

Your views are important and will be listened to. It may not be possible to act on every suggestion, but all feedback is very valuable.

Working in a spirit of mutual respect, openness and trust, all patients' views will be discussed and, where appropriate, we will work together on solutions.

You can ask at reception for a PPG application form or press the download button below to download a copy of the application form. please fill the form out and hand it back to reception. We aim to establish the PPG within the next 4 working weeks.
